Update

Our next Youth event will be announced shortly. Once again each child
will get notice. Thank-you, parents for your support and it is so lovely that so many of you are interested in your children taking part. Of course our dates won’t suit everybody and that can’t be helped. Some more offers of doing the course necessary and the garda vetting etc towards being a youth worker would be so welcome!

Kids Club News December 2010

Old St Mary’s rang with the sound of happy children playing & learning on
27th November. About 15 children attended.
This club will not be a regular Monthly event to begin with – we actually need a proper premises to make it really successful

our Carol Service in old St. Mary’s will be a Christingle Service & I hope as many children as possible will be there to carry the christingles up the aisles & to take part in lighting them -

a christingle is an orange (the world), with a red ribbons tied around it (love), a small candle (the light of Christ), four cocktail stickes sticking up around the candle with sweets on the ( the good thing God has given us all over the world (four corners) – Friday, 17th December in Old St Mary’s @ 7.30pm.

Kids’ Club –

For the under 12s – At last, we have a date by which all the vetting, training
and interviewing will be done with, for the moment and we can try to do some youth work, seriously. I have decided to call it “Kid’s Club” rather than what was started out with.
I hope parents will support it, bring their children along and consider becoming a helper (which requires all the above training etc)
Friday, 19th November 2010 in Old St. Mary’s Church @ 6.30pm

1st meeting of Clonmel Union of Parishes Bible Club

This is for the under 12s and will take place once a month in Old St. Mary’s on the 3rd Friday of each Month.

The first gathering shall be on Friday the 20th November from 7.00pm – 8.00pm.

We will focus on preparation for the 4th Sunday Service of the Word – there will be stories, singing, colouring and fun.

As the Rector has completed Safeguarding Trust training and is exempt from being barred from doing youth work as a member of the Panel, she will help on these evenings.
